Fables – Willingham, Buckhingham & Leialoha (Laurie Dix)
This style is associated much more with more contemporary American and European comic books. They are rich in texture without giving up too much detail, and the angles of the framing is similar to how it might appear if it were to be shot as a film. The lighting used here would suit a Noir comic, too, with sharp shadows being cast obscuring parts of the face. The detective character looks as though he belongs in the noir universe, and would fit right in to our stories.
So far, this is the most apt style for our comics, although perhaps it could do with being even darker still.
